The notification is reproduced after the covering circular in the linked document. Select the employment schedule and occupation before choosing a zone or wage figure.

The May notification and subsequent proceedings need to be considered together. The earlier April 2026–March 2027 table must not automatically be treated as the latest applicable schedule.

Current litigation and establishment-specific applicability have not been conclusively verified. No payroll-ready rate is presented here.

Shops Act · September 2026 amendment

Effective 4 September 2026

Karnataka Act No.38 of 2026 changes coverage, registration and employment obligations.

The new section 3(1)(k) excludes establishments employing ten or more workers if already registered under the OSH&WC Code. Applicability must therefore be resolved before using the state Act’s leave and hours provisions.

Registration continues until closure or cessation. New provisions require a service certificate within seven days of an employee’s application and prohibit retention of original employee documents. Read the full amendment for the other changes.

Labour Welfare Fund · 2026 coverage change

Effective 7 January 2026

Karnataka Act No.05 of 2026 expands the establishment category in section 2(4)(iii).

The amendment replaces “more than fifty persons” with “ten or more persons” in that category. Evaluate the full establishment and employee definitions when deciding coverage.

The amendment also allows online payment channels in section 7A(3). It does not itself set a new contribution amount.

Current-year contribution amounts and remittance dates remain pending primary-source consolidation.

The allowance is only one component of the minimum wage. Use the matching employment notification, occupational category and geographical zone to establish the payable total.

G.O.Ms.No.6, dated 30 May 2026, sets basic monthly rates by skill and zone.

Zone I: municipal corporations. Zone II: municipalities. Zone III: rural and other areas. Match the job to the skill classifications in the notification.

Dearness allowance is linked to CPI 443 (2001 = 100), with ₹33.86 per month for each point of increase, and is to be notified for April and October. The order is subject to the outcome of the court cases it identifies.

The file also contains convenient wage calculations after the gazette. Those appended calculations are not presented here as an independently verified government rate table.

Different employments use different base indices and allowance multipliers. The shops schedule cannot be applied to every contractor or factory role.

The notification covers the employments and workers specified in the Code on Wages. Brick-kiln rates are to be notified separately. Gurugram is covered under Haryana.

These are the basic rates printed in the notification. The order prohibits dividing them into allowance components and provides for subsequent index adjustment under the rules.

Online self-certification provides a conditional exemption from opening/closing hours and the establishment close-day provisions.

The exemption under sections 9 and 10 requires registration on the departmental website. Employee working-time conditions still apply.

Night work for women requires the separate exemption and its safeguards. Display the notification at employee entrances and exits, and read its conditions in full.

Notification HLWB/REV/2026/3436, dated 8 May 2026, revises the monthly contribution ceiling.

The employee contributes 0.2% of salary, wages or remuneration, capped at ₹35 each month. The employer contributes twice the employee amount, so the employer maximum is ₹70.

The ceiling is indexed annually from 1 January. These are monthly limits, not a flat ₹105 deduction from every employee.
